Started saltwater fly fishing in the mid 70s and helped pioneer mid Atlantic Saltwater fly fishery. Masthead writer for Fly Fishing in Saltwaters and other publications. Started with Sage on the guide program, then Team Sage and now an Ambassador as well as RIO ambassador. The number of great friends that have I have made from guiding over the last 24+ years. For the last 15 years we have hosted fly fishing trips to international destinations like, Costa Rica, Belize, Bahamas, Baja and Guatemala. Getting to fish and guide along side my wife Capt. Sarah Gardner.

The waters both inside and of the northern Outer Banks and the waters around Cape Lookout.

False Albacore, speckled trout, sharks, cobia and other migration coastal species like Spanish mackerel, bluefish.

conservation work

Participating in several fish tagging programs for the state of North Carolina,as well as sitting on advisory committees. I am a member of North Carolina Costal Federation along with Bonefish, Tarpon Trust.

Fall around Cape Lookout NC, spitting rain and breezy chasing false albacore (little Tunny).
